I. Key Objective
Monitoring the timely flow of information to prevent delays and additional costs and understanding, administering, and
enforcing conditions of the contract during the construction phase of a project

II. Work Relations
a. Internally
• Report to Senior Contract Administrator.
• Collaborate with project team members.
b. Externally
• Communicate with client i.e. contractors and/or subcontractors.

III. Duties and Responsibilities
a. Examination of contract documents and identification and evaluation of unacceptable risks prior to bid submittal.
b. Identification of rights and obligations of the parties under the contract, particularly those under a bespoke form of
c. Identification of ambiguities and contradictions that may give rise to conflict; offer the most reasonable interpretation.
d. Issue of notices to ensure the client is not time-barred from recovery.
e. Drafting of contractual correspondence during the execution phase.
f. Timely recognition of variation orders and assessment of the same.
g. Examination of the project schedule.
h. Preparation of extension of time and prolongation cost claims.
i. Contractual management of subcontracts; response to subcontractor’s claims; preparation of counterclaims.

IV. Required Experience
a. Five (5) to seven (7) years’ relevant experience.
b. Thorough knowledge of FIDIC’s Conditions of Contract, particularly “Conditions of Contract for Works of Civil Engineering
Construction” and “Conditions of Contract for Construction for Building and Engineering Works Designed by the
c. Understanding of critical path scheduling techniques.
d. Experience in dispute resolution is a plus.

V. Required Education
a. Bachelor of science degree in engineering, quantity surveying, or a closely related subject accredited by the Royal
Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
b. PMP is a plus.

VI. Professional Competencies
a. Proficient command of English language; native English speaker is a plus.
b. Sound knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
c. Excellent writing skills.
d. Excellent communication skills.
e. Primavera scheduling software is a plus.
